Mr. Wathuta is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, admitted to the bar in 2009. This is his tenth year in active practice and has hands-on experience in various areas of law.

EDUCATION

A holder of a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Nairobi and a post-graduate Diploma in law from the Kenya School of Law Mr. Wathuta is a qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He has also furthered his arbitration skills by undertaking International Commercial Arbitration in his Master of Laws studies at the University Of Nairobi School Of Law. Currently, he is a continuing Master of Laws student specializing in International Trade and Investment Law.  He is also a member of the Law Society of Kenya.

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

He has previously worked in the firms of Sichangi & Company Advocates as well as Simba & Simba Advocates. From his experience, he possesses vast legal knowledge and expertise in several areas of practice such as; Civil Litigation, Commercial Litigation and Arbitration Law, Labour and Employment Disputes, Judicial Review and Administrative Law, Intellectual Property Law, Aviation and Energy Law, Insurance law amongst others.

His main areas of practice include private equity, mergers and acquisitions, corporate law, commercial law, structured trade finance, corporate restructuring, tax law, and capital markets. He represents both local and international clients in high value and complex transactions and has handled various real estate and development projects and loan financing transactions.
